Portrait of Lucía Falcón Palomar, translator and interpreter for the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York, for the Fall 2019 issue of Middlebury Magazine.
Falcón has a masters in translation and interpretation from the Middlebury Institute along with a law degree from a Mexican university. She feels her post at the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor enables her to combine her two loves: languages and the law.

Production
I used a Canon EOS R to photograph Lucia. Lensing bounced between a 35mm f/1.4 and a 50mm f/1.2 prime and each was kept fairly wide open to throw the background out of focus. Lighting was kept simple with a Profoto B10 Plus in a Profoto Softlight Beauty Dish with a ⅓-stop fabric diffuser as key and the ambient as fill.
